Item Of The Week

This week's item is a pair of Givenchy leather boots costing $1575. The first thing that came to my mind when i saw these boots was horses and cowboys and although these boots are not the type of thing i would usually wear, western styled clothing is big this season and these boots are exactly that. So if you're looking for a new pair of boots for the cooler months go with something western whether it be fringe or tan leather.

Easter Break

These Easter holidays were pretty uneventful for me as I didn't go away or do anything exciting. Although my easter was boring there was plenty of excitement in the fashion capitals of the world as designers revealed their new collections for fall 2009. Fall brings us cooler weather which brings to mind cozy coats, cardigans, scarves and boots. I prefer the summer but there is a certain excitement of dressing up for the cold which I love. Anyway the designs for this fall were quite dark and gloomy looking (with a few exceptions) but it is normal to see darker colours during the colder months so this is nothing new. Vivi Asian Fashion

Anyone interested in fashion should check out Lena's blog which is dedicated to asian fashion magazine, Vivi. Vivi magazine is similar to Vogue but focuses more on asian designers and trends. Lena's blog includes some great slideshows and photos from Vivi magazine and although it is still in the early stages I will be sure to keep updated for the latest asian fashion.

Item Of The Week

My favourite accessory this week is this Aurelie Bidermann plastron necklace. This beautiful necklace is made with real swan feathers dipped in gold and although very pricey at $935 it is something I would definitly love to buy. I just love the way this necklace is designed, it reminds me of something a goddess would wear. This necklace would look gorgeous with a long, flowing, white dress and would be the perfect statement piece to glam up any plain outfit.

2009 Trends

The collections this season are full of geometric designs, grecian togas, tribal prints, metallics and layered outfits. Prominent colours seen in the collections included gold, pink and a lot of bright neons. Regarding hair, slick up dos and swingy ponytails are back in fashion again. The shoes seen on the runway were all extremely high platforms with many openings, fringes and ruffles. As for accessories, large dangly earrings and costume jewellery is very trendy this season, small clutches and long strappy swing bags are also in. Overall, my favourite fashion trends this season include the eighties trashy look, vintage style and the goddess look.
